The embedding of invisible but robust signatures in digital data is an essential measure to protect multimedia content, and that approach—called digital watermarking. In our work, we propose an image watermarking method in discrete wavelet transform (DWT) technique using chaotic sequences and encryption-decryption techniques. DWT integration with its multi-resolution analysis supports for fast watermark embedding without quality loss. Chaotic sequences provide an additional security level by randomizing the watermark insertion locations. Also, the encryption-decryption process enables verification of the format and confidentiality of embedded watermark. A holistic architecture that covers both the encoding and decoding processes enabling seamless embedding and extraction of watermarks.
