Hydatid Disease in Children
摘要
Hydatid disease is endemic in developing countries. It commonly affects liver and lungs. Mostly asymptomatic, and cysts grow slowly over several years. Symptoms are non-specific. Diagnosis is made by ultrasonography, and computed tomography is used for the treatment plan and for the diagnosis of extrahepatic disease. Treatment includes Albendazole chemotherapy, percutaneous techniques, and surgery. Complications and recurrence are minimal.
