Cleft lip and palate are the most common congenital anomalies of the craniofacial structures. There is a broad range of phenotypic variations within the morphological continuum of cleft lip and palate. Isolated cleft palate is a separate entity with unique embryo-pathogenesis and high syndromic association. Good results are obtained with a properly planned surgical procedure and these patients need orthodontic as well as audiological follow up in the long term.
