Peripheral Venous Cannulation

Peripheral venous access can be easy, difficult, or rarely impossible. It is one of the basic skills in medical care irrespective of the specialty, both in elective and emergency situations. In several clinical situations, it is absolutely inevitable to establish intravenous access. Importance of venous access, general principles, and techniques are described in this chapter.
