Identifying the Long-Term Effects of Construction Safety Training Methods: A Systematic Literature Review
摘要
Identifying the most appropriate training methods is crucial to achieving optimal safety outcomes. One critical aspect of practical safety training is the retention of information by the workers, as it directly influences their ability to apply safety practices in the long term. As such, this systematic literature review examines the immediate impact and long-term effects of various construction safety training methods. By focusing on the retention rates of safety information among trainees, this review explores multiple aspects, including training topics, techniques, effectiveness indicators, and long-term effects. The results indicate that the retention rates of the investigated training approaches decreased by 4% to 24% among trainees, depending on the training method and the retention time. These findings shed light on the enduring impact of different training techniques, which is critical for ensuring that workers can consistently implement safety measures over time. Our study's originality is to investigate retention rates among construction workers who have undergone various safety training approaches. Consequently, this paper offers new insights for developing more effective construction safety training programs that deliver information effectively and promote knowledge retention among workers. Ultimately, this contributes to the overarching goal of creating safer construction sites and reducing workplace accidents in the construction industry.
