In this chapter, we will briefly introduce some backgrounds of artificial neural networks (NNs) with various delays, and give a brief on analysis and design of delayed NNs. Compared with the traditional Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) method, the advantages of the proposed direct method will be summarized in Sect. 1.3. Finally, we present the organization and contributions of the book.
