The concept of a linear measure is a generalisation of the notion of length of a segment; another generalisation leads to the definition of the length of an arc of a curve. By studying the questions related to the rectification of curves, we will have the opportunity to apply some of the results that we have obtained on the integration. 摘要

The concept of a linear measure is a generalisation of the notion of length of a segment; another generalisation leads to the definition of the length of an arc of a curve. By studying the questions related to the rectification of curves, we will have the opportunity to apply some of the results that we have obtained on the integration. We will see, at the same time, the importance of a class of functions defined by Jordan: the functions of bounded variation.
