In Chap. 6 , we made bold predictions about the future prospects of mass spectrometry. Firstly, as mentioned earlier, if mass spectrometry becomes more widespread in the medical field, we believe that AI-based mass spectrometers will soon be as common in general clinics as X-rays and CT scans. In recent years, wearable devices, such as the Apple Watch, have gained popularity. Consequently, the need for real-time measurement and analysis of physical conditions is increasing. If the development of mass spectrometers continues at this pace, there may come a time when they become as ubiquitous as smartphones, with every household and individual owning one.
