Educational Belt and Cultural Road: Back to the Future of Great Civilizations
摘要
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown how fragile our world is. It reminded us the meaning of the international cooperation, the value of communication, the power of humanism, mutual respect, and solidarity. It also reminded us that just one man is enough to destroy everything, while we do not know if we all together can save that one. Closed borders, collapse of tourism, and obligatory self-restraint at home (in our village, in our country) presented the characteristics of an unprecedented financial situation, a new society, and a new and unknown way of life where we have to adapt in order to survive. Suddenly, primordial values and logics, which have been derived from big historical civilizations such as the Chinese and the Hellenic ones, were forced to be revised. These very values and logics are looking for their expressions through modern politics. What is left to be done is to draft and schedule academically, politically, culturally, and financially the appropriate applied policy that will have to be implemented.
