Oxidative stress is the difference between forming free radicals and developing antioxidants to counteract their effects. Damage to macromolecules, including lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acid, is caused by oxidative stress. Oxidative damage to the constituents of cells causes aging and several illnesses linked to aging. Phytochemicals pave the way for creating new medication categories for treating aging-related ailments. Natural products, such as berberine, resveratrol, curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate, and quercetin, have been shown to have anti-aging properties. Natural molecules and their potential therapeutic benefits are currently receiving much interest in enhancing population health and postponing or even preventing the onset of numerous diseases. Compared to most synthetic compounds, their consumption is generally thought to have less or no adverse effects on humans. These natural products are readily available and cost-effective as well. They play various defensive mechanisms when introduced into the diet and protect against oxidative stress-mediated aging and associated ailments. Here, we have discussed the anti-aging potential of natural products and their efficacy in being used as pharmaceuticals. Various models have also been discussed, from invertebrates to vertebrates participating in aging studies. Here, we have emphasized a few deeply studied products, such as metformin, rapamycin, and resveratrol, that display anti-aging properties through various mechanisms.
