Spatial Evolution Analysis of the Level of Digital Economy Development in China
摘要
In rcent years, China's economic growth has been largely driven by advancements in the digital economy, facilitating high-quality development. To evaluate China's digital economy development, this study used a literature research approach to identify secondary indicators based on the five major new development concepts as primary benchmarks. Data from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government were analyzed to assess China's digital economy development from 2013 to 2021. Using GeoDa software, this study conducted spatial autocorrelation analysis including both global and local spatial autocorrelation assessments. And the findings indicated significant agglomeration effects in China's digital economy development levels, characterized by higher levels observed in eastern coastal areas and lower levels in the northwest and northern regions. Besides, Temporal evolution characteristics revealed a gradual reduction in aggregation areas for regions with low levels of digital economy development in China, while an expansion was observed for regions with high levels. However, due to disparities in developmental foundations and speeds, there existed an imbalance in regional differences regarding the level of digital economy development.
