Fuzzy Logic with FOPID Controller for Shunt Active Power Filter with EV Charging Station
摘要
The distribution networks are unbalanced, distorted due to nonlinear current drawn by electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. These nonlinear loads are the main cause for generating non-sinusoidal voltage and current in generating side and load side. The current has nonlinear characteristics with high harmonic content impact on power factor and power quality of grid. In this paper, author has implemented EV boost converter attached with active power filter using fractional order proportional integral derivative. It is used as nonlinear controller to improve the harmonic content. The comparative case study of Fuzzy-based FOPID has been compared with traditional PI controller, PID Controller, and 2 degree of freedom (2DOF) PID controller and Fuzzy logic controller. The output response of Fuzzy-based FOPID is better in comparison with other controllers in terms of total harmonics dissertation factor. This reduces the harmonics in the current and voltage waveform for nonlinear load.
