Integrated renewable energy system (IRES), utilizing different manifestations of solar energy, has proven to be an economic solution for the developing countries constituting many rural and remote areas where grid extension is not easy. The focus of the paper is to design IRES that is capable to harness energy from locally available resources against a rural backdrop. A linear deterministic demand-resource approach is considered to design IRES for a practical case of the village located in North India. Thus, minimal yearly cost has been determined, subject to a number of power and energy limitations. IRES is also assessed for its reliability through the evaluation of various load requirements. The COE (cost of energy) will be compared with the result derived from optimization software HOMER.

摘要
