Expansion and massification of Higher Education in India poses new challenges for Higher Education Institutions regarding reframing governance structures and processes. This chapter looked at evolution of governance structure and processes in a higher education institution in the state of Maharashtra. The role of Higher Education Institutions and their functioning in governance and management led the quality and excellence in the higher education of Maharashtra State.
