For nonlinear systems, sliding mode control provides an effective way due to the advantages of robustness and simplicity. A lot of derivative methods have sprung up including feedback linearization control (Li et al. 2017), terminal sliding mode control (Yan et al. 2016; Mu et al. 2016), high order sliding mode control (Yan et al. 2016), adaptive sliding mode control and so on.
