Computational Thinking Integration by Design-Based Learning Perspective Implementation Example of Math Education
摘要
This section discusses the importance of computational thinking in mathematics education from the perspective of a design-based learning approach. It explains the universal values of computational thinking and examines studies on its integration into mathematics education. In addition, the characteristic features of computational thinking, which aims to solve problems and involves a cognitive process, have been tried to be explained. In the next step, the prominent studies in the literature on computational thinking were examined from the perspective of mathematics. In this context, the research designs, grade levels, content domain, application style and outcome(s) of mathematical studies in which computational thinking is integrated were examined. Afterwards, design-based learning activities focused on computational thinking for mathematics were mentioned. The design-based learning approach for computational thinking in mathematics education is explained, focusing on activity design, real-world context, collaboration, and reflection. The issues to be considered in design-based learning activities focused on computational thinking for mathematics, tutorial tasks and roles, ways to include real-world contexts, and the development and reflections of the understanding of collaboration are explained. Finally, the text discusses best practice examples in design-based mathematics teaching that focus on computational thinking.
