The present research aims to provide an exhaustive state-of-the-art bibliometric review of carbon neutrality in the transportation sector. For the bibliometric analysis, 527 English articles published between 2014 and 2023 were extracted from the Scopus database. Performance analysis was conducted to reveal prominent nations, sources, articles, and authors in the field. The results showed that B.K. Sovacool is the most productive and influential author, and the United Kingdom emerged as the most productive and collaborative nation. The SustainabilitySustainability (Switzerland) and the Journal of Cleaner Production are the most productive and influential journals, respectively. The co-authorship analysis of authors shows a lack of international collaboration and knowledgeKnowledge exchange among authors. Additionally, keyword frequency and co-occurrence analysis were performed to explore the conceptual structure and provide future research directions. Results reveal that fuel cell electric vehicles, subsidy, energyEnergy policy, stakeholder analysis, shared mobility, and urban planning are some of the keywords in trend. These keywords may be used by future research to advance the transport decarbonization corpus. Future researchers can focus on SLR, meta-analysis, and case-based literature review to enrich the field and identify solutions to transport emission issues. The study contributes to the transportation-carbon neutrality corpus and provides research gaps, suggestions, and future research directions.
