In the recent decade a lot of research has been going on in the area of nanotechnology and Nano particles are way different from the original material in terms of properties, behaviour and so on. Due to which Nano particles increases not only the research scope of the materials but also increases the utility and application of those materials. Similarly, in the field of civil engineering, in the recent years, it has been observed that nanotechnology is being applied more and more as the time passes. This is also because the existing problems in the area of civil engineering has been take care of by certain extent with the use of nanotechnology and the limitation of the original materials are being reduced considerably. In this paper, the way nanotechnology is changing the field of civil engineering is being highlighted. Some new and major applications of nanotechnology in civil engineering area is covered in the paper. Then, data from different sources were collected to perform graphical analysis to support the study. Based on the graphical analysis, the advantages and challenges were found out. Then, what will be the future of nanotechnology in the civil engineering area, is discussed in this paper.
