In recent decades, the amount of discarded tires has significantly increased due to global population growth. Fortunately, incorporating crumb rubber into self-compacting concrete (SCC) can help address this issue. This research project examines how recycled rubber from discarded tires affects the mechanical and fresh characteristics of SCC. Replacing natural aggregate with crumb rubber can hurt mechanical properties; using CR as a fine aggregate at varying concentrations can slightly improve the filling capacity and passing ability of the SCCs according to EFNARC criteria. The resulting SCCs saw increased flexural strength with higher CR replacement levels, but the compressive strength decreased. These findings suggest careful consideration is necessary when using CR as a substitute for natural aggregate in SCC.

摘要
