Presently in India, as a result of limited utilization practices, a vast quantity of iron and steel slag is deposited in the yards of every manufacturing unit, occupying prime agricultural land and causing severe environmental pollution. The utilization of steel slag in construction industry is an efficient approach for these issues. GeoPolymer Concrete (GPC) is produced by alkali-activated silica- and alumina-rich pozzolanic materials. Many studies are carried out introducing steel slag powder into ordinary concrete. In the current study experimental studies are carried out to replace natural Fine Aggregate (FA) by steel slag powder (SSP) in geopolymer concrete based on flyash. When 20% of FA was replaced SSP, the compressive strength of GPC based on flyash increased by 17%. Steel slag powder blended geopolymer concrete with flyash (FGPCS) showed outstanding mechanical properties. Therefore this can be extensively recommended for structural applications.
