This chapter explores the gender inequalities that drive men to perpetrate acts of sexual violence against women (SVAW). The chapter draws its presentation from an empirical study conducted in Lesotho’s Maseru district. It conceptualises gender inequalities, sources of gender inequalities and gender inequalities and SVAW. It further provides different definitions of gender inequalities coined by other researchers and defines this phenomenon at the end of the sub-section. The chapter thus sheds light on the various causes of gender inequalities. They conclude that gender inequalities are linked to SVAW. The chapter findings claim that gender inequalities are some of the drivers of SVAW in Maseru’s rural and urban areas.
