Hydrogels consist of water entrapped in a crosslinked 3D polymer network where the water content may exceed 90 percent of the entire mass of the hydrogel. Because of its close resemblance to human tissues, it has been used to treat burns and wounds. Other uses include, biomedical devices and sensors that is briefly discussed in this chapter.
