Surfactants and Self-assembled Structures
摘要
Surfactant molecules have a hydrophillic head group and a hydrophobic tail that make these unique as organized entities called micelles are spontaneously formed above a critical concentration (cmc) in bulk solution. With increasing surfactant concentration various phases with widely different physico-chemical properties are formed that finds many applications raging from cosmetics and drug delivery to drilling fluids in oil recovery.
