摘要

Green Chemistry is one of the most prevalent areas for organic chemists and industrial workers to contribute their part towards a broader scope of global sustainability. Though, this is an emerging field from past 20 decades, it is still at an outset to be explored. We highlight the aim for a sustainable synthesis by accounting an environmental benign approach by using greener solvent conditions. The most common solvents used are volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which causes serious environmental problem. Due to the fact that their vapours are toxic to humans, plants, or animals, or they may cause diseases, a greener solvent would advance the circular economy. For decades, sustainability in organic synthesis, has been a top-notch goal for the researchers to reduce the impact of toxic chemicals into the environment. Peeking into the amount of waste generated in many synthetic chemistry routes, especially in larger scale in industries, greener synthesis will support both financially and ethically to develop more sustainable chemical processes and products.
