摘要

Plant-derived compounds have attracted great attention because of their numerous applications. Medicinal plants remain the largest bioresource of traditional medicine systems drugs, contemporary medicines, nutraceuticals, food extras, folk medicines, intermediate pharmaceuticals, and synthetic drug chemical units. The combinations of the plant's secondary components are typically where plant materials get their positive therapeutic effects. Contrary to synthetic pharmaceuticals made from a single chemical, many phytomedicines work even by additive or synergistic-action of many chemical mixtures operating at one or more target-sites connected to a physiological cycle. Present analysis emphasizes on the phytochemistry of medicinal plants and their pharmacological significance. Many herbal medicines have been used safely and continuously in India for a very long time in officially recognized complementary medical practises like Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and homoeopathy. These ideologies have legitimately coexisted with allopathy and do not belong in the realm of obscurity. Millions of Indians regularly practice herbal medicines in spices, home cures, and health foods in addition to using them as over the counter medications for self-medication or medications supplied by non-allopathic medical systems. We will further talk about the plants and herbs e.g., Boerhavia diffusa, Solanum nigrum, Phyllanthus niruri, and Citrullus, and their application part [1–8].
