Metallic Minerals and Their Deposits
摘要
Minerals containing one or more metallic elements are known as metallic minerals or Ores, which are categorized as ferrous and non-ferrous ores. Minerals containing Iron, Manganese, Chrome, molybdenum, nickel, cobalt, tungsten, and vanadium, are some of the key ferrous ores, while minerals containing aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, tin, antimony, titanium and noble or platinum group of metals (PGMs), rare earths (REMs), and Radioactive metals, are some of the important non-ferrous minerals. Physical, optical, and chemical properties of these ore minerals, their industrial applications, geological processes responsible for the formation of their deposits, and distribution across the globe have been discussed in this chapter.
