Bone Fracture Healing
摘要
In this chapter, we will explore the details of bone fracture healing. The causes of bone fractures can be broadly categorised into two types: pathological and traumatic. Some of the causes of pathological fractures are osteoporosis, osteonecrosis, and bone tumours. Conversely, traumatic fractures arise from events like vehicle accidents or falls from heights. In the later part of the chapter, we focus on the mechanobiology of bone fracture healing. Mechanobiology is an emerging field of science at the interface of biology, engineering, and physics. It focuses on how cells detect and respond to mechanical stimuli.
