The present chapter is an enumeration of edible fruit-yielding wild plants of Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India, with 102 flowering plant species belonging to 37 families. For each species, the taxonomic details, such as botanical name, habit, Tamil name(s), distribution (world and Tamil Nadu) and note (uses) are provided. Among the different growth forms, tree is the dominant one with 51 species followed by shrubs (34), herbs (08), lianas (05) and climbers (04). Solanaceae, Rutaceae, Rhamnaceae, Rubiaceae and Rosaceae are the dominant families represented by a minimum of five species.
