Global energy politics revolves around the demand and supply of fossil fuels, which continue to dominate the world’s energy source. States and corporations play a decisive role in shaping energy politics. Environmental concerns to fight climate change have become central to global energy politics. The shift towards cleaner and renewable energy sources has gained momentum. Efforts to improve energy efficiency and promote sustainable practices are also underway. The laws of thermodynamics play a crucial role in shaping energy consumption patterns and guiding efforts towards a sustainable energy future. International agreements have created an agenda for cooperation and emissions reduction targets, shaping the global energy scene. The energy crisis is primarily an environmental crisis. The solution offered to the energy problem is to change technology in a more caring direction: more energy-efficient production. When searching for alternate energy sources, we need the extraction of rare earth mineral which requires coal.
