The focus of this chapter is on providing a detailed explanation of the changes required in health and healthcare to present to the complex world. The aims of this chapter are twofold. First, to present a summary of negative impact of the design of health and healthcare arising from exclusive focus on the principles of Cartesian science. Second, to propose a new (re-imagined) paradigm for health and healthcare as a holistic ecosystem. To explain this holistic ecosystem, the influences on health and healthcare are classified under three agencies of health and healthcare (identified in Chap. 1 ): Principles and Purposes (P1), People in Place (P2), and Practices and Processes (P3).
