Basidiomata 4–12 cm high, fleshy, tubiform or trumpet-shaped, vivid apricot yellow to yolk yellow. Pileus 3–12 cm in diam., applanate at first, then depressed at centre, glabrous, subviscid when young; margin wavy, sometimes valvate, incurved. Context 2–4 mm thick, white to yolk yellow, with an almond flavour. False lamellae decurrent, ridged-lamellate, narrow and distant, furcate or interweaved. Stipe 2–8 cm long, 0.8–2 cm thick, tapering downwards, apricot yellow, glabrous, solid. Basidiospores 7–10 × 5–6.5 pm, elliptical, smooth, hyaline.
