Parasitic infections of the eye may be a manifestation of generalized systemic disease or a localized phenomenon. Infection of the cornea due to various etiological agents is a leading cause of corneal blindness worldwide. The etiological agents vary significantly according to geographic location. Although corneal infection due to parasites constitutes a relatively small proportion of microbial keratitis, treatment poses a challenge for ophthalmologists. In this chapter, we discuss microsporidia and acanthamoeba keratitis as these are more common in the practice.
