Potentialities of MXenes and MXene-Based Materials for Supercapacitor Applications
摘要
MXenes and MXene-based materials have been recognized as reliable candidates for supercapacitor applications as a result of their outstanding properties. With large surface areas, good electrical conductivity, and superior ion accessibility, MXenes offer enhanced charge storage capabilities. Their tunable electronic and mechanical properties allow for tailored designs to meet specific application requirements. Additionally, MXene-based composites and hybrids show potential for synergistic effects, combining the advantages of MXenes with other nanomaterials. Despite these promising attributes, challenges such as scalability, stability, and cost-effectiveness need to be looked into for wider commercialization. Continued research efforts focusing on synthesis optimization, fundamental electrochemical mechanisms, and scalable production processes are essential. Overall, MXenes hold great promise for revolutionizing energy storage technologies, with supercapacitors being a particularly promising avenue for their application.
