Performance Analysis of VSI Powered 3-Phase Induction Motor Using Smart Controllers
摘要
The Induction Motor (IM) remains the most extensively applied electrical machine for a variety of purposes, especially traction motors for electric vehicles. The efficient control of IM speed is crucial for various industrial applications, where energy consumption and system performance play pivotal roles. The speed control of IM is a difficult task due to time-varying behavior and highly non-linear load. This paper presents a detailed analysis of the Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) powered 3-phase induction motor’s speed control and torque-speed characteristics by utilizing Proportional Integral (PI) Controller, Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Controller, and Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). The IM is modeled by utilizing dq axes reference frame. The system has been simulated in SIMULINK. The results obtained using various controllers are analyzed for speed control and torque-speed characteristics of IM for a wide range of applications.
