A Technique for Micro-Grid Environment to Investigate islanding and Non-islanding

The proposed work presents a passive islanding detection scheme, which leverages the phase angle of positive sequence voltage (PAPSV). The selection of PAPSV stems from a rigorous analysis of 13 diverse indices. Comparative evaluation unequivocally establishes PAPSV as the most sensitive and accurate parameter for detecting islanding, surpassing all others. Extensive testing involving worst-case scenarios validates the scheme’s effectiveness in discerning islanding events from non-islanding occurrences, including load switching, various fault-type switches, and capacitor and motor activations. The proposed scheme stands out for its simplicity, rapid execution, and straightforward implementation. Its validation occurs within the IEEE 1547 standard test system, utilizing the MATLAB/SIMULINK atmosphere. The scheme achieves islanding detection in just 0.10 s, boasting a flawless non-detection zone.
