摘要

A capacitor bank of appropriate capacitance value helps in self-excitation of Standalone Asynchronous Generator. İn order to determine the appropriate value of the capacitor to be connected in real time systems, simulations are performed. In this paper, a simple mathematical expression free from complex mathematical calculations has been derived. The final expression has been solved for the unknown variables using Binary Search Algorithm. The results obtained using the aforementioned algorithm is tested on a three-phase, 415 V, 2.2 kW induction generator at different loading conditions as well at variable speed operating conditions. The computational functioning of the aforementioned process has been equated with other conventional methods including Newton–Raphson method, Steady-state model and eigen-value method and a satisfactory performance has been observed.
