Lifelong Learning and Healthy Ageing: A Global and Singaporean Perspective
摘要
Population ageing is one of the most defining demographic transitions in the twenty-first century. The current cohorts of older adults are generally more educated, healthier, and have greater longevity than their preceding generations. This shapes them as not only passive beneficiaries but active contributors to societies and their communities [1]. Thus, opportunities to maintain and enliven older adults’ active participation as essential in the promotion of healthy ageing have gained increasing attention and are being addressed within policies and programmes across countries, guided by international charters of global institutions including the recent UN Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021–2030 (hereinafter the Decade plan).
