Taxonomies of Educational Objectives

There has been several efforts to classify educational objectives in the last few decades of curriculum research. The pioneering effort to classify educational objectives was initiated a group of researchers under the leadership of Benjamin S. Bloom. The early efforts of Bloom and his associated resulted in the materialsation of taxonomy of educational objectives under cognitive domain. The taxonomy of educational objectives for the affective domain and psycho-motor domain were published subsequently. The Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) Taxonomy by Biggs and Collis and McCormack and yagar's classification of taxonomy of science education are alternatives to Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. The original taxonomy of educational objectives of Bloom and his associates were recently been revised by Anderson and Krathwohl and popularly Known as Revised Blomm's Taxonomy (RBT).
