Analysis of the Adoption and Implementation of DICT’s Six-Stage Cybersecurity Incident Response Model in Philippine Government Agencies

The adoption of the DICT’s Six-Stage Cybersecurity Incident Response Model among Philippine government agencies, identifying gaps in compliance, as well as its possible causes. While some agencies have incident response measures, they lack the effectiveness of the DICT’s framework, impacting the quality, speed, and prevention of cyber incident responses. The study highlights the importance of a standardized incident response plan, as many agencies rely on DICT for cybersecurity. Despite commendable efforts, the absence of a unified system hinders effective incident management. Aligning with the DICT’s model can enhance cybersecurity, improve response quality, and strengthen protection against threats. This study concludes the importance of data and evidence-based strategies to fortify the cybersecurity resilience of Philippine government agencies.
