Perception of the Professional Community of the State of Tabasco Before the Graduate Follow-Up Program of the UJAT: Effects, Social Networks, and Use of Data Mining

The use of data mining in social networks is a topic that currently allows to strengthen decision-making in different professional fields. The analysis of profiles for personnel recruitment is currently supported by data mining techniques that allow the collection of information for the creation of a complete profile of the candidate. The education sector should not be the exception, as it is a question of sizing the applications it could have in the institutional environment. The use of these data mining techniques focused on the follow-up of graduates, which is an institutional program of vital importance for decision-making in academic work, allows to discover the perception of UJAT graduates, which helps to strengthen the information for the creation of new academic programs, continuing education or restructuring of existing curricula. The present investigation allows to establish, through the application of a qualitative instrument, its statistical analysis, and the application of data mining algorithms to a sample of 1056 graduates, to perceive their interest in the alumni program. The data reveal important findings that allow us to reduce the generation gap, as well as clear strategies for a transformation that the alumni program must rethink the way to link all the priority actors of the UJAT Alumni Follow-up.
