Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the Audiovisual Industry. A Taxonomy of Uses and Applications
摘要
The incursion of tools based on Artificial Intelligence in audiovisual production is transforming this industry through four main axes: (i) the automation of processes; (ii) improving production efficiency; (iii) innovation in the analysis and prediction of problems to be solved; and (iv) the democratization of access to content creation. In this work, a taxonomy is developed that helps understand the complexity and breadth of these transformations. To classify the uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in the audiovisual industry, the four different phases that make up the production ecosystem were considered: pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. First, we explore how these AI-based tools facilitate and enhance content generation. Second, its role in optimizing production processes is analyzed, highlighting how AI contributes to efficiency and precision in project planning and execution. Third, the impact of AI on analytics and prediction is evaluated, especially on data-driven decision making for content production and distribution. This study is based on a mixed methodology that includes case analysis, interviews with industry professionals, and a review of academic literature. The findings suggest that, while AI presents ethical and practical challenges, its incorporation into the entertainment industry is opening innovative avenues for creative expression, significantly disrupting the traditional dynamics of content production and distribution.
