The Use of Nanomaterials in Activating the Complement System
摘要
Nanomaterials are of great importance for developing any drug delivery system. While for the management of disease, the major discussion revolves around the activation of key immune pathways, the complement system remains an unsung hero. It plays a number of crucial roles in immunization, which is the basis of action of multiple drug systems. The importance of understanding and controlling its activity has been observed in various fields, including cancer management. In this chapter, the authors emphasize the role of nanomaterials in activation of the complement system and on their significance for healthcare in general.
