This research paper brings under scrutiny the trajectory of migration including voluntary and involuntary migrations in the context of Indian Diaspora. It deals with the understanding of geographical, social, and political situations which trigger migration. The researcher has tried to distinguish between Old Indian diaspora and New Indian Diaspora and how both these waves of migration are essentially connected with the colonization and exploitation of India by the British colonialists for a century. The study tries to highlight the fiction of a famous Indo-Canadian writer, Rohinton Mistry by focusing on diasporic elements. It also lays emphasis on how contemporary diaspora writers celebrate transnationalism. The researcher has used the postcolonial concepts of Homi K. Bhabha as a theoretical framework to study the cultural changes and nuances of displacement and migration.
