Health and Wellbeing Through the Arts: A Knowledge Mobilization Strategy

This chapter addresses the psychological impact of COVID-19 and proposes the arts as a healing tool. It outlines the mental health challenges faced globally due to the pandemic, emphasizing the increased anxiety and depression rates. The chapter argues for the therapeutic potential of the arts, supported by studies and examples, highlighting their role in improving mental and physical health. It presents the Canadian Network for Arts and Learning's initiative to mobilize knowledge about the arts’ health benefits, including plans for community projects and advocacy for governmental recognition and funding. The aim is to integrate the arts into health and wellbeing strategies post-pandemic.
