Small Molecule Targeted Compounds for Cancer Therapy Through Different Pathways
摘要
Currently ranked as the second most common cause of death worldwide, cancer plays a key role in global health challenges. Small molecule compounds have garnered increasing attention as a potential treatment approach to target various cancer types in recent times. This strategy entails these substances interacting with particular molecules inside of cells to carry out particular tasks, like triggering apoptosis and preventing the proliferation and invasion of cancer cells. Thus, this book chapter mainly focuses on providing a concise overview of the molecular mechanisms of the crucial pathways associated with inflammation, apoptosis, and tumor cell growth. In addition, we further discuss some of the various small-molecule compounds targeting different types of cancer to enhance cancer treatment. This comprehensive discussion may provide valuable insights into future approaches for effectively targeting tumor cells with small-molecule drugs for therapeutic purposes.
