Unusual Management of Endothelial Touch by Glaucoma Drainage Tube in a One-Eyed Patient

Glaucoma drainage devices have been increasingly used in recent years for both primary treatment of glaucoma and refractory glaucoma. Understanding of the complications that may occur after implanting these devices and their management is a very important aspect in the treatment of glaucoma patient. This chapter gives an insight into one of the very important complications of endothelial tube touch which occurred after Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation and its management in a one-eyed 58-year-old diabetic male patient diagnosed with neovascular glaucoma. Use of a minimally invasive technique of 9-0 Prolene suture to pull the tube away from the corneal surface gradually decreased the corneal edema and improved the vision in the patient. This chapter describes a novel method of protecting the endothelium from tube touch and thus protecting the cornea.
