There’s Evil in My Eye: Pediatric Ophthalmology Challenge—Goldenhar Syndrome with Complex Strabismus and Dense Amblyopia
摘要
This chapter narrates the experience of managing a complex phenotypic abnormality in an 8-year-old child. The child had ocular features of the oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum (Goldenhar syndrome), with oculo-motor deficits with dense amblyopia and severe psycho-social impact. This chapter stresses the interprofessional approach in the diagnostic workup of the ill-fated child and shares the challenges in the management of complex strabismus and dense amblyopia in the described case.
