Isolated Ocular Behcet’s Disease
摘要
Behcet’s disease (BD) is an idiopathic systemic inflammatory disease. It can affect all body organ systems and is characterized by major symptoms of oral aphthous ulcers, uveitis, skin lesions, and genital ulcers. Ocular manifestations are multiple and polymorphic, with uveitis being the most common. Though rare in the Indian population, BD can lead to visual loss secondary to glaucoma. We report one such case where the patient presented to us with glaucoma secondary to recurrent uveitis. Surprisingly, she was found to be HLA-B51 positive, commonly associated with BD. Hence BD should be kept in mind while managing patients with uveitis of unknown etiology.
