Neovascular Glaucoma: A Race Against Time

This case report describes a diabetic and hypertensive patient with neovascular glaucoma in the left eye, who had a history of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation. Despite the initial AGV implantation, the patient’s glaucoma remained uncontrolled, leading to a second AGV implantation and multiple intravitreal anti-VEGF injections and pan-retinal photocoagulation. The report discusses the patient’s clinical course, treatment strategy, and outcomes, highlighting the challenges and complexities of managing neovascular glaucoma in the context of previous interventions. The case underscores the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and tailored treatment plan for patients with complex glaucoma cases.
