DMEK Triple Procedure in a Case of Delayed Complications Following Bilateral Cosmetic Iris Implants: The Road Seldom Traveled

The use of cosmetic procedures to enhance eye color is in vogue these days due to high beauty standards and even higher expectations. Iris implants, originally devised for therapeutic purposes in patients with iris defects, are now popularly but wrongly being publicized as a safe option for eye color change. However, they often lead to devastating side effects. This chapter provides insight into one such case of a 47-year-old male who developed corneal decompensation, secondary glaucoma, and cataract 7 years following bilateral cosmetic implants and throws light on a new combined surgical technique to manage these complications, i.e., DMEK triple procedure.
